Powertrain Test Technician

We have over 70 employees based in Cambridge, UK. Our Engineering Services Groups work on a consultancy basis for vehicle and component manufacturers.
We have comprehensive state-of-the-art powertrain and vehicle testing facilities.
We evaluate and develop powertrain control solutions for future vehicles.
Due to recent and planned future expansion, our Engineering Services Groups are now recruiting engineers and technicians to join the team. The role will involve working in our powertrain and vehicle test facilities on a variety of powertrain-related projects.

Experienced Powertrain Test Technicians.
Existing engineering technicians with transferable skills and with an interest and enthusiasm for the role.
The role is varied, based on the specific requirements of the test programme. Typical day-to-day activities could include:
Set-up and installation of test powertrains and vehicles
Operation of powertrain and vehicle test facilities
Fabrication and instrumentation of test parts
Maintenance of a range of powertrain and vehicle test facilities
Some or all of the following skills/experience would be an advantage — if necessary additional training will be provided.
Automotive maintenance, ideally including high-voltage systems
TIG welding
Sheet metal fabrication
Use of machine tools & hand tools
Electrical / electronics testing / fabrication
Computer literacy — particularly Microsoft Excel
Essential Attributes
Flexibility to work on a weekly-alternating early/late shift basis (7 am–3 pm & 3 pm–11 pm)
Must be eligible to work in the UK.
Preferable Attributes
Automotive maintenance
TIG welding
Sheet metal fabrication
Use of machine tools & hand tools
Electrical / electronics testing/fabrication
The salary range will be from £27k–£35k including shift allowance, depending on relevant experience and qualifications. In addition, Cambustion operates a profit share scheme. This is variable but is typically worth an additional 10% per year.
